SandCastle is an outstanding private estate on the West side of the island of New Providence, Nassau, Bahamas. The estate has a renowned garden, overlooking the entire bay from an elevated position, and has immediate access to a private beach. The white powdery beach stretches out over nearly one kilometer wrapping around the turquoise lagoon. The house itself is 14,000 square feet and was furnished and decorated by an international designer as her own home, and presents a quality of Design and furnishings rarely found in a rental home.  

Having been widely photographed, the Estate has appeared in such world-renowned publications as Vanity Fair.

On first entering the 3-acre site one follows the winding driveway though the multitudes of Palm Tree specimens, with huge silk cotton trees in the distance.  The large, antique, wooden Front Door invites you into a floral-covered courtyard, which especially in the winter, can serve as a wonderful outside dining area.  “The Court Yard “not only gives access to the main house but also leads to 2 separate bedrooms.

When first stepping into the Main House, visitors enter the spacious “Blue Reception Room” with a breath-taking southern view overlooking the Terrace, “Infinity Pool “and Ocean. This reception room has a state of the art sound system, with stereo capabilities in the Courtyard, Terrace and Dining Area.

Three French windows are leading to the “Vaulted Terrace”, a charming space, where to relax and being sheltered from the sun, on comfortable sofas, with soft scatter cushions and unusual fossil lamps.  This terrace leads to the sun-drenched much photographed “Infinity Pool”, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Ocean, and a broad staircase, carved into the rocks leading down to this unique beach. Looking to the right, yet another terrace, the so called “Rock Terrace” invites you to take a drink to watch the most wonderful sunsets through the bay.


An “English" lawn extends on the right and left of the “Infinity pool”. Very near on the right you find our “Infinity Terrace”, shaded by numerous palm trees, the ideal place to have lunch or dinner.

On a lower level are two more terraces carved into the rock, one we call the “Barbeque Terrace” – ideal to do just this apart from sunbathing, and the bottom one, “The Ocean Terrace”, the most stunning one of all, hangs low over the water with two glass bottom openings to enjoy the fish below. Lit at night with torcheres, this most stunning setting will provide you with unforgettable evenings.  

We now enter the house, past a well equipped “Cole Porter Bar”, so called because of Cole Porter who spent a winter in the house, in the 1920s composing a musical. Leading off the bar area is the “Dining Room”with its main feature being a wide bay window overlooking the ocean.

The state of the art “kitchen” close by is the dream of any aspiring gourmet!

Turning left and passing the Bar, Cloak room, and spacious Lobby overlooking the courtyard “Herb Garden” and the “Infinity Terrace” on the left we enter the most memorable of reception room, simply called the Main Room”, a cathedral height,  wood paneled room  with panoramic windows on both sides, overlooking the tropical gardens and the sea. This room is furnished with European elegance and style. Beyond these rooms connects the “Cottage”, a suite of rooms like a “Games Room”, two bedroom suites overlooking the sea, called the “Cottage Suites” and two more rooms dedicated to “staying fit” – the Gym.

Returning to the house, and reentering the “Inner Courtyard” you find a very private spacious bedroom suite on the right hand side, overlooking the gardens in the front, called the “Tropical room”

Once you are in the Blue reception room, looking left you will see the “Oriole Garden”, so called because of it antique oriole surrounded by Jacaranda trees and other flowering trees.

On the right is the TV/Study, French doors leading to the Pool area, and the room is filled with books and DVD,s for entertainment.

Right opposite, passing another small W/C you enter a suite of two more intercommunicating bedroom suites.

The entire second floor is taken up with 3 bedroom suites, and every suite has its own private terrace.

The Master bedroom suite , called “The Panoramic Suite” comprises some 1,100 square feet, offering a very elegant layout with private salon - dressing room, giving breathtaking views towards the gardens in the front due to long extended terraces filled with an abundance of flowering jardinières. The main room with panoramic windows over the seas, giving a feeling of literally overhanging them. And two marble clad bathrooms fitted with ample cupboard and storage space.
   
Connected by a secret door you access yet another bedroom, the “Celadon Suite”, fitted with cupboards both side, elegant bathroom and a terrace spanning the entire width of two rooms overlooking the pool and the beach.

Finally the “Leopard Suite”, frivolously so called after the leopard chest standing in its entrance lobby, a bedroom more masculine in its decoration, with ocean views, and like the master bedroom suite with a big private terrace with views over the front gardens.
